TLI and EAL is partnering with The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) to offer graduate credit for courses. This partnership allows students to earn graduate credit for completing specified TLI/EAL courses.

Students may combine graduate credit from these courses with TCNJ’s programs in Counselor Education, Educational Leadership, Elementary/Secondary Education, and/or Teaching ESL throughout the academic year and summer.

Students do NOT need to be matriculated in a graduate program to bank credit with TCNJ; however, TLI/EAL students MUST complete a visiting student application (only once). Visiting students may bank up to four (4) courses with TCNJ by completing a visiting student application (no application fee or admission materials required). PTC students who want to pursue a TCNJ graduate program and are currently visiting students MUST apply for admission and submit a graduate application/admission materials (any time while taking/banking their courses).

The fee to bank courses for graduate credit is $450 per 3-credit course and is payable upon signing up for course credit during your course. Students who elect to bank coursework are required to submit an additional assignment to their course facilitator before the end of the course.

TCNJ has provided a helpful information page for TLI/EAL participants:

High Tech High Graduate School of Education (HTH)

Catalyze the world’s shift to more innovative, equitable, and extraordinary teaching and learning with the High Tech High Graduate School of Education Master’s in Educational Leadership.

High Tech High Graduate School of Education will award graduate credits for successful completion of coursework taken through the Principals’ Training Center. Credits can be applied towards earning a Master’s degree through the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership program.

About HTH GSE
The High Tech High Graduate School of Education — the nation’s first graduate school rooted within K–12 schools — pushes the boundaries of what learning can look like by creating the context for transformative learning and action in schools and systems across the globe. As a hub for innovation, improvement, and justice, HTH GSE and HTH K12 are intentionally interconnected to elevate student brilliance, inspire work that matters, and measurably improve life outcomes for all learners.

Graduate Program Details
The Master’s in Educational Leadership program is designed to help educators strengthen the skills, mindsets, and tools to lead for justice and deeper learning. Our program believes in the connection of theory and practice, and it is perfect for those who are ready to commit to self-development within a dedicated learning community. Therefore, it is uniquely created for educators with at least three years of experience working with students, practitioners, or in the greater field of education. Likewise, about 40% of candidates enrolled in our program already hold a Master’s Degree or higher. Moreover, our commitment to theory and practice is reified through our practitioner faculty who serve as educational leaders outside of instructing our courses. All of our courses are designed and taught by education leaders from around the nation, and educators from our very own HTH K-12 schools.

The EdL Program provides candidates with three pathways for earning a master’s degree. The first is a full-time, 10-month residency program at one of the 16 K-12 High Tech High Schools. The second and third pathways are almost exclusively online, completed in either 10 or 20 months with a required one-week immersion course at our San Diego campus in August.
