23 September, 7 October, 21 October 2023 and 6 April 2024
7-9 am EST
Facilitator: Kelly Armitage
Complete your Certificate of International Teacher Leadership entirely online by joining this course, with four 2-hour synchronous sessions and follow-up asynchronous activities in between. This final course will give you the opportunity for job-embedded focus on a teacher leader initiative based on a problem of practice, with feedback from a cohort of peers and an international school leader facilitator as you progress through the year.
This experience is open to all Teacher Leaders who have taken at least one core course from the Teacher Leader Institute and is required for all Teacher Leaders seeking their Certificate of International School Leadership from the PTC, entirely online.
What will I learn?
During this learning experience you will explore the following questions:
How can I be a highly effective teacher leader?
How do I manage change effectively?
How can I lead my team to focus on improving student learning?
What specific leadership strategies are needed to be an effective teacher leader in an international school?
During the virtual synchronous sessions, you will reference learning from other TLI courses as you work through the following process:
identify a problem of practice that you can address within your sphere of influence
develop an action plan to initiate meaningful change
discuss leadership challenges with your peers and facilitator
explore case studies from international school teacher leaders
share successes and next stepsWe will also discuss how to apply and adapt these skills, as needed, in an online or hybrid learning environment.
The curriculum for all TLI courses is rooted in the ‘Standards for International Teacher Leaders’, which include an elevated emphasis on applying the practices associated with anti-racism and inclusion.
Who is this Experience for?
Heads of department, grade level/year groups leaders, instructional coaches and others who lead teams in international schools. Aspiring teacher leaders are also encouraged to attend.
