Facilitator: Matthew Hajdun
Course: TTC - Coaching Skills for International School Teacher Leaders
Date: 8-12 July 2019
Matt is currently Instructional Coach, classroom teacher, and the Teaching and Learning Data Specialist at the International School of Brussels (ISB). Matt was previously the Lower School Director of Teaching and Learning and an Instructional Coach at the American School of Brasilia (EAB). Matt also worked as an elementary school teacher in the United States (Grades 3-6), and worked as a Principal at a small, private school in rural Honduras. Matt has a Bachelor's and Master's in Education. Matt's passion is praxis, particularly with language acquisition, literacy, and conceptual mathematics - helping teachers apply current research in practical ways within the classroom. Matt first came into contact with instructional coaching from an inspirational colleague/mentor while working in Burlington, Vermont. Through a variety of methods, Matt's literacy coach advanced his practice and the experience touched him to explore coaching informally as an instructional leader. While at EAB, Matt gained formal training as an instructional coach with particular interest in the work of Jim Knight and Diane Sweeney.
