Laura Cowan is a dynamic and experienced international counselor, educator and leader with a passion for building and maintaining sustainable and inclusive programs that focus on Child Protection & Safeguarding, Trauma & Crisis Response services, and the Mental Health and Well-Being of all community stakeholders. As a TCK herself, diversity is a norm! She has worked in Asia for the past 27 years and although her heart and family reside in Scotland, Hong Kong is her 2nd home. Laura supports the developmental counseling approach that aims to equip individuals with authentic life skills to help prepare them to meet challenges as they arise, using the ASCA, ISCA & CASEL models as a framework for P&SEL program delivery. She also prioritizes parent education opportunities and engagements as she strongly believes that this partnership is critical in supporting positive growth and progress for each child.

Laura regularly presents on a wide variety of mental health and educational topics both in schools and to organizations such as ECIS (Educational Collaborative for International Schools), EARCOS (East Asia Regional Council of Schools), ISS (International School Services), AISC and MIND HK.

In her spare time Laura enjoys coaching rugby, going to brunches with friends, and spending time with her daughter.
