Robyn Harwood happily serves as the Elementary Guidance Counselor for Lincoln Community School in Accra, Ghana where she lives with her husband and two children, ages five and eight. She combines her fervent interest of the cultivation of mindfulness and positive psychology to create dynamic classroom and school activities that foster a healthy, safe and inclusive environment for students and teachers. A certified Yoga teacher, Robyn has sought out and completed various courses to support this endeavor, including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, the Mindful Schools program as well as The Foundations of Well Being. She serves on the Child Protection Working Group for the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA) and most recently presented at the AISA Educators Conference; Mindfulness and Positive Psychology Practices in the Classroom. Robyn has also been honored to encourage positive transformation in families by guiding parents through courses such as Love and Logic and Active Parenting Now. Originally trained as a Clinical School Social Worker, she has a wealth of experience in using Strengths Based Solution Focused strategies to guide children and families through the process of realizing their innate abilities to solve problems. Robyn is thrilled to be a part of the CTC team, as she relishes the opportunity to share with and learn from other international school counselors.
