  • A series of 4-day courses in at least 2 locations annually

  • Facilitated by experienced experts in classroom instruction

  • Practical training based in the active learning model

  • An opportunity to work exclusively with other teachers from international schools; features built in to promote networking and reflection

  • University credit available, including the option of completing a full Masters degree entirely through the TTC

  • What are the TTC Summer Institutes?

Four day, intensive courses on specific teaching and assessment skills in the international school plus late afternoon ‘reflection sessions’ for sharing and networking.

The TTC has earned a reputation for providing highly effective practical training for international school educators. Participants can expect a high level of professionalism in each course and should be prepared to work intensely and collaboratively with their colleagues who come from international schools around the world.

Is there any preparation before the course?

All registrants complete pre-read materials and preparation assignments before arriving at the institutes. These can typically be completed in a few hours.

All participants are also asked to bring a written description of one teaching issue and any other professional issue to be discussed with colleagues. These will be used in the afternoon reflection sessions.  In these sessions, participants will meet in small groups to plan presentations, exchange ideas, and discuss professional issues and concerns.

    Are there are special requirements?

These courses are open to all teachers in internationals schools, as well as those who are about to begin their first international teaching job. Beyond that, there are no requirements for registration.

In order to receive a certificate of completion, participants must complete the full 4-day institute. Those who arrive late or depart early will not receive confirmation of participation.

Due to the intensive training and limited facilities, TTC accommodations are not offered to spouses or other non-participants. TTC participants should not plan to have spouses or family members accompany them.

    Can I earn graduate credit?

3 graduate credits are available for each TTC course through Buffalo-State-SUNY in the USA, at a total additional cost of $325 per course. Those interested in earning graduate credits will complete application forms and make payments for credits onsite, during the institutes. Representatives from Buffalo State-SUNY will be available during the TTC Institutes to assist with the application process.
