Accommodation (including breakfast) is available at the event hotel at a TLI guaranteed rate and must be booked directly with the hotel.  For those requiring accommodation, it is recommended you book a room for the nights of 12 and 13 April to be ready for early session start times on Friday (13 April) and Saturday (14 April). The guaranteed rate also applies to the night of 14 April for those who wish to stay the evening after the event ends. Book prior to 11 March to ensure you can get a room at the TLI rate.

HOW TO GET TO THE HOTEL

Directions from Tocumen International Airport: 

  • Hotel airport transport: Transport service operates 24 hours/day, seven days a week.  A reservation is required by phone or email (below). The shuttle is $38.00 USD each way per person.

  • Arriving by carTake Corredor Sur from Avenida Domingo Díaz by heading northeast for 280 m. Then, keep right to continue toward Avenida Domingo Díaz for 350 m, keep left to continue toward Avenida Domingo Díaz for 110 m then continue onto Avenida Domingo Díaz for 1.7 km. Slight right to merge onto Corredor Sur, drive for 15.5 km. Take the exit toward Viña del Mar. Keep left at the fork and merge onto Viña del Mar. Turn as soon as you exit. Hotel will be on your left.

    WHAT TO BRING

    • A LAPTOP WITH WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS IS REQUIRED.
    • Download Adobe Reader DC (free) and course materials to your laptop before your arrive.
    • If you must bring an iPad or other tablet make sure the PDF reader on your tablet allows you to annotate the course book sent to you. A laptop is preferable.
    • Cord for charging laptop and Panama compatible adapter,  if necessary.
    • Any items required to make your stay more comfortable in the hotel room.

    COURSE MATERIALS

    Your course materials are digital and will be sent to you for download via email prior to the start of your course. You will want to download Adobe Reader DC (free) as the material will be an interactive PDF. No print copies will be available. 

    ARRIVING AT THE INSTITUTE

    Friday 13 April 2018

    • 7:30am - 8:00am: Registration will take place at the entrance of meeting space, La Caleta. Please arrive in time to pick up your name badge and other institute related material. Bring your laptop so the coordinator can ensure you have successfully downloaded your course book.
    • 8:00am: Course begins promptly in La Caleta.

    INTERNET ACCESS

    The Sheraton Grand Panama provides free internet access in the meeting rooms. There is also free internet access available in hotel public areas. Be sure to have the appropriate adapter plugs for your computer as these are not supplied.

    MEALS

    Meals for all TLI participants include:

    • Two coffee breaks daily  
    • Buffet lunch on both days of the program

    Evening meals are on your own. There are a few restaurants nearby and a shuttle to a nearby mall. Further details will be shared during the Institute.

    GRADUATE CREDIT

    If you intend to take any course for graduate credit, please indicate this when you arrive on site.  One semester hour of graduate credit is available from Buffalo State SUNY. You must be accepted by SUNY in advance for their Masters program or for non-graduate credit to be used for re-certification. Be sure to register onsite for graduate credit before you leave the TLI institutes. TLI will collect the fee for credits and pass it on to the university. For further information about admissions, contact Cathy Molenda at molendaca@buffalostate.edu. 

    TLI CANCELLATION POLICY

    • Full payment due at time of registration.
    • Before 1 March 2018 -$200 of total cost per course is NON-REFUNDABLE.
    • After 1 March 2018 - Course fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
    • All refundable fees will be held as CREDITS for the following year unless other arrangements have been made with the PTC.

    Please be advised that photographs and videos will be taken at the TLI sessions for use on the PTC website and in the press, PTC marketing materials, and all other PTC publications. By participating in a TLI Session, you consent to the PTC photographing and using your image and likeness. The PTC reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at TLI Sessions, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. The PTC may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by the PTC including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.
