Matt is currently transitioning to the International School of Brussels (ISB) where he will serve as an Instructional Coach and ELD teacher.  Matt was most recently the Lower School Director of Teaching and Learning and an Instructional Coach at the American School of Brasilia (EAB).  Previously Matt worked as an elementary school teacher in the United States (Grades 3-6), and worked as a Principal at a small, private school in rural Honduras.  Matt has a Bachelor's and Master's in Education.  Matt's passion is praxis, particularly with language acquisition, literacy and conceptual mathematics, helping teachers apply current research in practical ways within the classroom.  Matt first came into contact with instructional coaching from an inspirational colleague/mentor while working in Burlington, Vermont.  Through a variety of methods, Matt's literacy coach advanced his practice and the experience touched him to explore coaching informally as an instructional leader.  While at EAB, Matt gained formal training as an instructional coach with particular interest in the work of Jim Knight, Diane Sweeney and Elena Aguilar.
